How We Built an AI Brief Generator That Saves Interior Designers 3 Hours Per Client

What This Is

This is a working demo we built to show interior designers exactly what an AI brief generator does in a real studio environment. Everything you see below is live and functional. The brief generator is deployed, the AI is running, and you can try it yourself in 2 minutes at the link at the bottom of this page.

We built this because interior designers consistently tell us the same thing discovery is the most time consuming and unpredictable part of their work. This system solves that.

The Problem We Designed This For

A typical interior design studio receives 8 to 12 new inquiries every month. Each one follows the same pattern. A DM or email comes in. The designer replies asking for details. The client sends scattered ideas, vague references, and Pinterest links. A discovery call gets scheduled — usually 60 to 90 minutes. After the call the designer spends another hour writing a brief summarising everything.

That is 3 to 4 hours per inquiry. For projects that convert, that time is justified. For the 40 to 50 percent that do not convert, it is completely lost.

For a studio handling 10 inquiries a month, that is up to 20 hours a month spent on discovery for projects that never begin.

What We Built

An AI Brief Generator that lives on the designer's website. When a new client inquires they are directed to a single focused page with 8 questions covering their space type, size, budget range, style preference, lifestyle, feel words, and what they want to avoid.

The moment they submit, Claude reads their answers and generates a complete professional design brief in under 5 seconds.

The brief includes:

  • A personalised project title

  • A vision statement written in rich design language

  • Style direction tailored to their answers

  • A colour palette with names and descriptions

  • Material and texture recommendations

  • Key furniture piece suggestions

  • A smart budget allocation strategy

  • Clear next steps from the designer

The designer receives an instant email notification with the full brief and the client's budget range — before a single call has happened.

What the Output Actually Looks Like

The brief does not read like an AI summary. It reads like a senior designer spent an hour with the client. It opens with a project title. It captures the emotional vision of the space. It recommends specific colours by name, specific materials by texture, specific furniture by category.

When we tested this with sample answers from a busy professional couple redesigning their Mumbai apartment — modern minimalist style, calm and bright feel, budget of ₹8 to ₹10 lakhs — the brief that came back in 4 seconds read like this:

Project title — The Urban Sanctuary — Living Room Transformation

Vision — A space that breathes. Clean lines, abundant natural light, and a deliberate absence of clutter create a home that feels like an exhale at the end of a demanding day.

Colour palette — Warm White, Slate Grey, Brushed Brass, Deep Olive.

That level of quality is what makes the client feel understood before the first call has even happened.

The Numbers This System Produces

These are realistic projections based on the demo and what designers consistently report about their current discovery process:

Time saved per client — 2 to 3 hours of discovery and brief writing eliminated per inquiry.

Conversion impact — clients who receive a personalised brief before the first call arrive warmer, more decided, and more likely to commit. They feel the designer already understands them.

Budget qualification — low budget inquiries self-select out when they see budget options in the form. Designers stop wasting time on projects that were never viable.

First impression quality — the brief becomes the designer's first deliverable. Before a single meeting, the client has received something professional, personalised, and impressive.

Who This Is Built For

Interior designers and design studios who are currently handling discovery manually and spending more than 2 hours per client on intake, calls, and brief writing. Especially relevant if you are a solo designer or small team where time directly limits how many projects you can take on.

Try the Demo

This is not a concept. It is live right now. Fill it out as if you are a client — use a real project you are working on or make one up. See what comes back in 5 seconds.
